Cautions in Scratch…
What Is Scratch
In today’s world, it is very important to have the ability to code computer programs. There are many programming languages available e.g. Java, C++, Python etc. but these are very high-level programming languages and might be difficult to learn at an early age but there are few languages e.g. Scratch which is specially designed for younger students. When people learn to code in Scratch, they learn important strategies for solving problems, designing projects, and communicating ideas. In this post, I am going to explain cautions we should be aware of. I will also detail all the cautions. If you don’t have an account in Scratch then click on this.
Caution 1: Telling Your Details To People You Don’t Know In Scratch
If you tell strangers online some important details, then they can literally hack you. Take for example that they are begging you for your credit card number, and then you give it to them. This will lead you to serious economical danger. What if you told them your address? If you tell them your address, then you are in serious danger. They can come to your house and steal. If you tell them which school you go to, then they can kidnap you while you are walking home. You know how there is extremely less toilet paper now due to coronavirus/Kovid-19, they may come to your house for toilet paper.
Caution 2: Addicting Games
No matter how appealing a game is in Scratch, DO NOT GET ADDICTED TO IT. Do not feel you can’t make this game, because then it can lead you to serious depression. Do not feel that you will be humiliated by your friends, as they made better games than you. ALWAYS THINK POSITIVE! This is why you don’t get too addicted to games, as it will lead you into serious trouble. Don’t play games too much as it will affect your eyes. Eyes can turn red if you use a technological device for too long. Maybe put an alarm, so you know when to stop.
Caution 3: Remixing A Project, But Not Changing It
The project you remixed can get deleted if you didn’t change anything. This is because you are technically plagiarising it. It is illegal to plagiarise a project without changing it. If you remix a project, then you must put the original person’s name in the notes and credit box. This is because you are crediting that person. There are many cautions you must see before remixing a project. This only happens because the Scratch community respect the hard work Scratchers have put into their game. They do know that they can’t just let someone steal some else’s game as a grantage without actually giving appreciation.
Caution 4: Eye Damage
Of course, a parent tells you not to watch tv for too long. All of us know that right?? Well, have they ever told you not be working on Scratch for too long? If you work in Scratch for too long, there can be stress you receive. You can get headaches, or immediate eye infection. This is when your eye slowly starts to turn red. You feel sick, and sometimes you can even catch a cold due to severe infection. To avoid this, you could get up every 30 mins, and minimize your time during technological access. Some people also get a black kind of colour underneath their eyes due to too much light.

Caution 5: Other People Get Annoyed
In Scratch, whenever someone comments or does something regarded to someone else’s thing, the other person can get annoyed. You see, you may be free, and you are commenting questions to someone else. The other person is about to level up in a game, and they suddenly get a message. They answer your question, and then suddenly they get another question. They will feel very annoyed, but they know their reputation will be ruined if they do not answer the question.
